Several Sheffield bus routes are being diverted due to Yorkshire Water roadworks.

The 75 and 782 are affected by works on Wortley Road in High Green, with the road closed while the works take place. The disruption is expected to continue until around September 29.

The 207 is being diverted because Howarth Road is closed. Buses are running directly between Whitehill Lane and Whitehill Road and are not serving the Howarth estate. The work is expected to continue until around October 2.

The 731, 765 and 780 are also affected by Yorkshire Water works on Langsett Avenue, which is currently blocked to larger vehicles.

The 731 is being diverted via Middlewood Road, Oughtibridge, Church Street, Haggstones Road and Worrall Road.

The 765 starts from Middlewood Road, while the 780 starts and finishes there and turns around via the Park and Ride. The work is expected to continue until around September 29.

Other services are facing disruption because of Sheffield City Council roadworks.

Works around Charter Row are expected to cause heavy congestion and delays from today (September 28).

The 18, 24, 47, 48 and 51 will be diverted outbound on weekdays between 2pm and 7pm via Furnival Square, Eyre Street and St Mary's roundabout.

The X1 and X2 will be diverted inbound at all times along the same route.

There are also longer-term changes because of council works at Arundel Gate, where bus lanes CS3 and CS4 are closed until around March 2027. Services using those stops will instead use CS2.

The 81, 82, 272 and 763 are also affected by the closure of Charter Row stops MF1 and MF2, which are expected to remain closed for around 10 months. These services will use stop MH5 instead.

The trams between Manor Top, Crystal Peaks and Halfway remain out of action because of engineering works.

The work began in July and is expected to last for several months.

First Bus is accepting valid tram tickets on its services along the affected corridor.

The 207 school service is also affected by the closure of the lower section of Worrygoose Lane, which is due to remain closed until October 30.

School services are being diverted via High Street in Whiston, Cow Rakes Lane and the upper section of Worrygoose Lane. They will not serve Greystones Road.

There will also be an overnight closure of West Bawtry Road from 9pm on Monday, September 28 until 5am on Tuesday, September 29 because of roadworks.

The closure will affect the 207 and X11.

In Rotherham, Corporation Street is closed in both directions because of further Rotherham Council roadworks.

The closure affects the 73, 95, 95s, 207, 601 and X3 and has been in place since August 27.

The closure is expected to remain in place until further notice.

“We apologise for the inconvenience that unplanned works can cause to local residents and commuters. The safety of road users and the teams carrying out essential repairs remain paramount. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we carry out these repairs as quickly and as safely as we can.”
