Public urged to comment on regulations required for Leopold Street bike lane in Sheffield city centre

Work is expected to begin in spring 2027

A public consultation has been launched into new traffic regulations required for a bike lane and landscaping in Sheffield city centre.

Sheffield City Council has published Traffic Regulation Orders to support changes on Leopold and Townhead streets.

TROs are legal documents that allow councils to make changes to the way roads are used and managed.

People can view the plans on the Connecting Sheffield: Townhead Street and Leopold Street webpage.

And they can comment on the TROs until October 8 and “before the project progresses further,” the council says.

Work is expected to begin in spring 2027.
