Parking cameras bearing £100 fines go live at Sheffield Railway Station after road layout changes
The road layout was changed to improve traffic flow
ANPR cameras to enforce a new road layout and parking arrangement at Sheffield Railway Station came online today.

East Midlands Railway says “clear signs” have been installed at the train station to help customers understand how to navigate parking, taxis ranks and drop-offs going forward.
And, as of this morning (July 20), rule breakers will be hit with a demand for £100.

The road layout was changed to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and make it easier for customers to access the station, according to EMR.
The new rules are:
Access to the station is via Fornham Street and Cross Turner Street
Turner Street is now one-way and no longer provides vehicle access into the station
Hackney carriage taxis can pick up customers from the rank immediately outside the station
Private hire vehicles can continue to drop off outside the station but must collect passengers from the designated pick-up area on Cross Turner Street
General passenger drop-off is also available on Cross Turner Street, where parking is limited to a very short stay
Blue Badge holders remain entitled to free parking where applicable but must register their vehicle with APCOA in advance.
Philippa Cresswell, customer experience director at East Midlands Railway, urged people travelling to, or collecting passengers from, the station to allow “a little extra time” to familiarise themselves with the changes and follow the new signage when arriving.
She added: “We are reminding customers travelling to and from Sheffield station to follow the new road layout and on-site signage ahead of ANPR enforcement coming into operation.
"The changes to access, drop-off and pick-up arrangements have been introduced to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and make journeys through the station area safer and more reliable."
