'These are my concerns about new Sheffield bus and tram gate' - Reader's letter
Reader Susan Long on plans for a qw-hour bus and tram gate on Langsett Road...
Having read David Walsh's article in the Star on Saturday I feel there are a lot of questions to be answered before plans progress further for the future of Langsett Road but I am pleased to see that the community are being invited to share their feelings.

I live in Lower Walkley off Walkley Lane and these are my main concerns ...
- How would I get to Morrisons without driving/crossing Langsett Road.
- How would I get to Penistone Road without driving/crossing Langsett Road.
- I have a blue badge and under the plans there does not appear to be access to the parking spaces outside the shops on both sides of the road.
- It appears that drivers, in their efforts to get to their homes, will be "rat running" through the Langsett Estate.
- When the Hillsborough Corner tramgate was introduced the general public campaigned to be able to go through any time on a Sunday.
I am sympathetic to those travelling on buses/trams and have been distressed myself when buses have been delayed/missing but I think all travellers must be considered and those making decisions must take in to consideration the practicalities for everyone wherever they live in the locality.
