Water has been streaming down Fenton Road, in Rotherham, as a result of the burst, with a section of the road closed as a result.

Yorkshire Water says no properties are currently without water because of the burst - but 94 properties will lose supply when its workmen shut the main off to begin the repair.

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “Our teams are in attendance at a burst water main on Fenton Road, Rotherham.

“Once the main is isolated we will begin a repair. There is a road closure in place at the moment to allow repair work to be done safely.

“We will be working hard to complete the repair and reinstate the road as soon as possible to keep disruption to a minimum."
