Abbeydale Road, Sheffield: Training bus involved in collision during day of chaotic travel due to black ice
A bus driving instructor was involved in a collision as vehicles across the city struggled to deal with black ice.
Yesterday (January 7) a cold snap led to chaos for travellers across the city.
Videos shared by The Star showed cars sliding across the roads, while some streets were closed off entirely.

South Yorkshire Police (SYP) responded to numerous collisions, and the AA reported blocked roads throughout the morning.
And amidst all of this, one bus driver was caught in a collision on Abbeydale Road.
The incident - which took place at the junction with Dobcroft Road - involved a training bus operated by First.
The vehicle was being driven by a driving instructor, with First Bus saying that another vehicle ‘skidded on ice’ and ultimately collided with the bus.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said they have no logs of attending the incident, while SYP called it a ‘damage-only collision’ with no injuries.
A First Bus spokesperson said: “We’re aware of the incident that occurred on Abbeydale Road in Sheffield on January 7 involving one of our training vehicles, where another vehicle skidded on ice while braking and collided with ours.
“At the time, the bus was being driven by our driving instructor, with two trainee drivers also on board.
“There were no injuries reported to anyone involved."
