South Yorkshire Police confirm man tragically killed in early-morning horror crash and another ‘seriously’ injured in hospital

The man, aged in his 60s, was travelling along the A618 Pleasley Road, between Whiston and Aughton, when he was involved in a collision with another car at around 8am.
He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdThe driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but they are not thought to be life threatening.


The road remains closed from Pleasley Road at Whiston through to the junctions with Ulley Lane and Treeton Lane at Aughton while crash scene investigation work is carried out.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were all deployed to the scene earlier and an air ambulance landed.Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage should call 101 and quote incident number 138 of March 9.
