British Transport Police said the arrests form part of Operation Ultimatum, an ongoing investigation into the theft of £2 million worth of rail track from across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands.

A total of 10 people were arrested in November as part of the probe in an operation which involved more than 100 officers, including specialist officers from British Transport Police's high tech crime unit and cash search dogs.
