Police probe into attempted sex attack on woman leaving Sheffield supermarket

A woman was forced to run away from a man who attempted to sexually assault her as she left a Sheffield supermarket.

The 25-year-old was followed from Tesco on Saville Street into Spital Hill, Burngreave, by a man who made inappropriate comments and attempted to sexually assault her.

A police probe into the incident at around 10.45pm on Thursday, February 9 is underway.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "The 25-year-old woman, who was able to run away from the man and get help, was not injured in the attempted assault but was left extremely frightened."

The culprit was around 25-years-old, slim, around 6ft tall, with short, dark hair.

He is believed to have a dark mark, possibly a mole, on the right side of his face.
