Sheffield Wednesday seek to make the most of home advantage against Championship leaders Leeds United

Jos Luhukay's men have yet to taste defeat at Hillsborough this season, collecting eight points out of a possible 12 on offer.

But Friday's televised clash with table-topping Leeds promises to be a stern examination of their promotion credentials.

Although the Whites' unbeaten Championship start ended with a shock home loss to Birmingham City last Saturday, Marcelo Bielsa's team remain top of the table after nine matches.

Pelupessy told The Star: "It's a big game. We are playing at home so the fans will be behind us and we have to use that.

"Leeds are a very good team and have made a great start to the season. I have seen some of their games. I saw them play Stoke in their first game of the season and they were really aggressive and played very well.

"We know it will be really tough against them so we have to prepare hard for the game.

"But we are unbeaten at home this season and we want to make Hillsborough a tough place for teams to come to."

Wednesday officials are expecting their biggest attendance of the campaign against Leeds. A crowd of around 27,000 is expected to watch the local derby. The Owls triumphed 2-1 when the two sides last collided courtesy of an Atdhe Nuhiu double.

Pelupessy said: "I love the support here. A lot of people come to support us every week. It is so nice.

"When we score goals, it is great to celebrate with them. They are always behind us and it gives us a good feeling.

"The fans are unbelievable and they travel in their numbers home and away. I have a lot of respect for them."
