Sheffield United player Oliver Arblaster is celebrating the birth of his newborn son, with the daughter of Blades manager Chris Wilder.
The footballer took to Instagram yesterday to post two adorable photos of his baby after Martha Elizabeth Wilder gave birth to their first child.
Martha shared the news of her pregnancy on Sunday, April 13, posting a series of polaroid-style images showing her baby bump, ultrasound scans and her and Oli in a loved up selfie together.
The post was captioned “+1”, alongside a white heart emoji, with her footballer partner tagged.
The safe arrival of their precious son has been welcomed by friends and family.
The footballer’s mum, Sarah, described the baby boy as “the most amazing gift”.
She added: “So proud of you both, what a gorgeous little man. Nannie loves him so much.”
Oli’s sister Katie posted: “Perfect little boy. Auntie Katie loves you so much already.”
A number of footballers have also congratulated the couple, including Andre Brookes, Louie Marsh, Jamie Shackleton, Tom Cannon, Sam McCallum, Mike Cooper and Kieffer Moore.
Golfer Alex Fitzpatrick also posted his congratulations.
Arblaster, 22, is one of Sheffield United’s emerging midfielders, having progressed through the academy system.
In August 2022, when he made his debut for the club, he posted: “A day I’ve dreamt about all my life.
“Sitting in the stands as a kid wanting to play for my boyhood club to ball boying watching the lads, to then making my debut for this amazing club can only be described as the best day of my life.”
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in November 2024, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign and a chunk of the following season but is now back playing again.
