We had this idea of asking people to raise money with us through having a good time, and that was all we started with really.”
The group hosts a number of events and initiatives throughout the year including family fun days, golf days, sponsored challenges, bake sales and craft sessions.
Ceri added: “There are 13 of us in all but many more regular supporters behind the scenes who are always there to lend a hand and offer help.

We wanted to do something else this year, to go out on high and it had been suggested, tongue in cheek, previously we should do a calendar. With a bit gentle persuasion, we decided to give it a go and shortly after we decided on the theme, ‘Leading Ladies’, our salute to some of the iconic female images of our time.
“Some pictures are cheekier than others and it has to be said, that even though we entered into this very nervously, we did have a great time doing it.”
The calendars are now on sale, priced £10, from Castle Galleries, Meadowhall; Love & Best Wishes, Bradway; Seasons Galley, Abbeydale Road; Direction Menswear, Woodseats; Bessemer Gallery, Ecclesall Road; Ora, Sharrow Vale Road; Within Reason, Division Street; or via email [email protected].
