The church, built in 1939, has been empty for five years, and has faced the threat of demolition from The Church of England’ commissioners.

But it could now be saved and brought back into use through Singh Bains’ plans.

According to the planning application, the developers would ‘refurbish and fit out all floors of the building’.

“The works are to take place therefore on all floors with the creation of two new mezzanine floors inside of the existing building creating a new first and second floor,” it adds.

The developer plans to retail all of the original features of the building ‘as far as possible’, and no changes to the external façade are required other than replacement windows and doors.
