Rotherham residents to be asked what services they want in new town centre health hub
The council is refurbishing the building at 42–46 Effingham Street in two phases, to bring health, wellbeing and community services together under one roof.
Rotherham residents will be asked what health services they'd like to see in a proposed new health centre in the former Boots building in the town centre.

The council is refurbishing the building at 42–46 Effingham Street in two phases, to bring health, wellbeing and community services together under one roof.
A consultation will ask residents and other groups for feedback on existing health provision, and what they'd like to see in the health centre. The council says it wants to hear from people across Rotherham, including those who may find it difficult to take part online.
Plans include face-to-face conversations, printed information at health centres and events in local communities. Translated materials could be provided on request.
The council hopes putting services in a familiar town centre location will make them easier to reach and bring more people onto Effingham Street. It says having several services in one building could also save patients and staff journeys between different sites.
Which services will eventually be based in the hub has not been set out in the documents provided. The council says it will carry out a fuller assessment of how the plans could affect different groups after the consultation.
