66 suspects prosecuted for drug, assault and driving offences in Page Hall and Shirecliffe

Over 60 suspects have been prosecuted for drug, assault and driving offences in Page Hall and Shirecliffe since January, a new report has revealed.

A report from South Yorkshire Police’s chief constable to Dr Alan Billings, the force’s police and crime commissioner, outlined the efforts of the the newly formed Page Hall and Shirecliffe Team to “enhance community cohesion”.

According to the report, 66 suspects have been prosecuted for drug,assault and driving offences following victims making reports to the police in the last five months.

The team has also issued 275 motoring tickets, 128 stop and searches, seized 73 cars, and issued 29 tickets to “protect the community against the dangers of inconsiderate driving”, and handed out 114 tickets for Covid-19 breaches.

The report states: ” The newly formed Page Hall and Shirecliffe Team are continuing to work with Sheffield City Council to enhance community cohesion in the area and change the wider Sheffield residents’ perception of the area.

“This area has one of the lowest crime levels in the North East Neighbourhood and the team have continued to address the issues of ASB.”
