Police quiz women over Doncaster street brawl video
Two women have been interviewed by police probing a shocking Doncaster street brawl which was captured on video.
Two young women were filmed in a vicious fight which took place in Moorends in front of shocked residents on Sunday afternoon.
South Yorkshire Police launched an appeal to trace the two people seen in the video which was been seen and shared thousands of times after going viral.
Now the pair have been questioned about the incident which made global headlines.
A spokesman said: "Two women, aged in their 20s and 30s, have been interviewed under caution in connection with the incident. Enquiries into the matter remain ongoing."
It is not clear if the two women questioned are those featured in the video.
In the shocking clip, a dark haired woman in a strappy top can be seen punching, kicking and slapping a smaller woman in an orange tracksuit as well as dragging her by the hair and appearing to slam her face into the road surface.
In the 90 second-clip, a voice can be heard screaming: "I'll f****** kil you!" as the brutal fight unfolds on a residential road.
The video also shows two other women arguing and fighting in the background, with one attempting to intervene as the fight between the two younger women spirals out of control.
The clip is thought to have been filmed at the junction of South Road and Vermuyden Road in Moorends and was shared in a Facebook group called Doncaster Talk.
At the end of the clip, the tracksuited woman and another female climb into a car parked at the side of the road while the dark-haired woman marches triumphantly towards the camera.
Earlier this week, Inspector Mark Payling of South Yorkshire Police said: “We are aware of this incident and now have the video footage, which will help us to investigate the matter further.
“Anyone with information about what happened should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1141 of Sunday 22 May 2016. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
