Police cordons taken down after life threatening stabbing in Sheffield

Two police cordons put in place following a stabbing in Sheffield yesterday have now been taken down.

Officers removed the cordons on Batemoor Place and Batemoor Close, Batemoor, last night after completing enquiries at the scene throughout the day.

A 30-year-old man was left fighting for life after being stabbed in Batemoor Place, before making his way, injured, to Batemoor Close at around 12.25pm yesterday.

He was rushed to hospital, where his condition last night was critical but stable.

Detectives are treating the incident as a 'targeted attack' and said the victim was chased by two black men in dark clothing before violence flared.

Witnesses and motorists with dash cams who were in the Batemoor area yesterday afternoon are being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police.

Extra police patrols of the estate have been ordered in the wake of the attack.
