A Rotherham man died after his bike was in a crash with a car.

Police said a car and bike were involved in a collision on Pleasley Road, travelling away from the town, at about 1.20pm on Sunday.

Police and ambulance crews attended but the rider, a 54-year-old man from the Rotherham area, died at the scene.

Officers say his family have been informed and are being supported. Formal identification is yet to take place.
