Woman airlifted to hospital in Sheffield after serious fall
A woman was airlifted to hospital in Sheffield after mountain rescue team volunteers went to her aid following a serious fall.
She was walking at Middle Black Clough, just off the Woodhead Pass, when she fell at around 3.30pm yesterday.
Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team volunteers responded to the incident and were assisted by Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.
The woman was winched from the hillside by a Maritime Coastguard Agency helicopter and transferred to an air ambulance before being flown to the Northern General Hospital for treatment.
Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team said the rescue was ‘another example of our emergency services working together to help those in need’.
