Tributes to young man who died in M1 crash near Sheffield
Tributes and messages of condolence have been posted on social media after a young man died in an overnight incident on the M1 near Sheffield.
The man, aged in his 30s and who has not yet been named by police, died at the scene of the crash near Junction 38.
Officers were alerted at 7.16pm yesterday to reports of a collision ‘involving a car and a pedestrian’.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said this morning: "The motorway was closed in both directions while emergency services carried out their work.

"A man in his 30s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."

The road reopened at about 1am this morning.
