Tributes paid as Sheffield woman killed in Skegness collision named as Tiegan Scott

Tributes have been paid to a Sheffield woman described as a ‘beautiful person inside and out’ who died after a collision with a car in Skegness.

The woman, named locally as 20-year-old Tiegan Scott, was killed instantly when she was hit by a turquoise Vauxhall Astra on the A158 Burgh Road, near Willow Park, at 12.50am on Saturday, July 18.

Tiegan’s boyfriend Travis, who was with her at the time, also suffered several broken bones, including his femur, kneecap, ankle and ribs, in the collision. He was airlifted to hospital in Hull.

Tanya O’brien, Tiegan’s mother, wrote: “I am not ready to let you go, I don’t want to. RIP my beautiful angel, love you forever and always, my best friend. It’s never goodbye, baby girl, I know you will be waiting for me when I get there.”

Renelle Scott, Tiegan’s sister, wrote: “Nothing will ever be the same without you, I really have lost my sister, my best friend, my right arm.

“But now you’re my beautiful angel watching over at every step I take, I hope I’m making you proud.”

Travis Thompson, Tiegan’s boyfriend, wrote: “Can’t believe we’re not together, we didn’t ever leave each other’s side unless it was for work.

“Miss your laugh and smile so much.

“We had so many funny moments, there wasn’t a day that passed where we weren’t laughing our heads off. Life will never be the same until we meet again, love you so much.”

Friends and family gathered on Saturday, July 25 to pay their respects on what would have been Tiegan’s twenty-first birthday. Chinese lanterns were let off as mourners paid their respects, with a firework display also taking place.

Christine Hallam wrote: “Wishing our Tiegan a happy twenty-first birthday. Been down to Skegness with Garry to lay flowers. Looking at the beautiful flowers, cards and gifts showing how many hearts she touched from her lovely family and friends. We love you loads Tiegan and we will miss you but never forget. Grandad and Nan-Nan.”

Michelle Potts posted: “Words cannot express how we all feel but we’ll all pull together for our legend. You were truly loved by a wide community and will be missed. Hope you’re resting in piece, little angel.”

Family friend Leanne Woodhead Sawyer said: “Our hearts are broken, our lovely Tiegan Scott gone too soon. “You’ve always reminding me of your mum as we were growing up, beautiful inside and out.

“We all are devastated.”

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for anyone with information about the collision or dash cam footage of the incident to call the force on 101 and quote incident 22 of July 18.
