People in Sheffield have won a whopping £1,529,080 whilst playing the Postcode Lottery over the course in 2022. Two postcodes in the city won the £30,000 prize, with the total winnings in those postcodes a massive £390,000.
The first was in January, when four neighbours at S12 3JG won a total £150,000. One of the winners played with two tickets and doubled their prize. The December winners at S5 6AB won a combined £240,000 as six residents snapped up prizes, with two doubling their prize with a second ticket.
Andrew Lucas was part of the winning cohort in January and said at the time: “I’m absolutely ecstatic. You never really think of winning big. I’ve never won anything in my life! It’s massive, it really is. I can’t explain how much it has come at the right time.”
Some 344 postcodes in Sheffield have won cash prizes throughout the year, with 61 postcodes winning the £1,000 daily prize. A total of 264 Postcode Lottery players in Sheffield won a combined £291,000.
In January, Andrew told how he planned to spend his prize on “new windows” and, after not having a “decent family holiday in three years due to Covid” it was “Ibiza here we come” for the family. The other winners in January and all four winners in December opted to remain anonymous after their wins.
