Sheffield boxer Kell Brook's heartfelt message to former opponent injured in horror crash
Sheffield boxer Kell Brook has wished a former opponent a full recovery after he was seriously injured in a horrific car crash in America.
Errol Spence Jr, regarded as one of the best pound-four-pound boxers in the world, is reported to have been seriously injured in the smash in Dallas overnight.
The 29-year-old is said to have been thrown out of a white Ferrari during the incident along the Riverfront Boulivard.
Spence Jr, a reigning welterweight world champion, famously stopped Sheffield boxer Kell Brook in the 11th round of an epic fight at Bramall Lane in May 2017.
Brook tweeted today: “Get well soon champ! Thought are with you and wishing you a full and speedy recovery.”
Pictures emerging in America show a mangled wreck of a vehicle with Dallas Police on the scene.
Police say the driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition, although authorities say he is expected to survive.
