Reverend and The Makers' Jon McClure plays Zoom gig for Sheffield health workers

Reverend and The Makers’ Jon McClure showed his love for the NHS by playing a private Zoom gig for Sheffield health workers.

He performed specially for staff at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust on Thursday, May 7, in gratitude for their hard work battling the coronavirus pandemic.

Between songs, he praised their efforts, saying: “The work that you do in and around Sheffield is amazing and it's very much appreciated."

The trust shared photos and video clips from the private gig, which started at 8.15pm following the latest round of applause for the NHS, tweeting ‘what a SPECIAL treat that was’.

The Reverend and The Makers frontman later said he was ‘enjoying me Zoom gigs’ and offered people the chance to win their own private gig.

“Tell us a joke. Whoever’s makes me laugh most gets a free gig on zoom for them and their mates tomorrow night,” he tweeted on Thursday evening.
