How the Arctic Monkeys can make you more productive at home and work

Are you having problems with wandering concentration levels?

Do your thoughts drift off when you are at work, or in the middle of a conversation at home?

Worry not...the Arctic Monkeys will help you with your ill-disciplined attention span.

Research distributed by streaming and media service Spotify suggests music could help you and your distracted mindset.

And the High Green band members, who originally met at Stocksbridge High School, are a go-to source for that.

Spotify, and their partners Vape Globe, state that songs with a tempo of 50 to 80 beats per minute (BPM) can enhance focus and creativity so that you can go about your life with renewed purpose and direction.

Arctic Monkeys’ “I Wanna Be Yours,” - initially written by punk poet John Cooper Clarke and adapted on AM's album 11 years ago - has just such an effect on the grey matter.

Its soothing rhythm, with a BPM of 68, is said to offer "a calming influence that reduces distractions. Its simple lyrics and steady beat create a soothing environment, perfect for prolonged focus on writing or coding tasks."

The lyrics are a joy to have bouncing around your brain, too, starting with "I wanna be your vacuum cleaner, breathing in your dust, I wanna be your Ford Cortina, I will never rust."

No wonder, it remains one of the most popular tracks by the Sheffield band and attracted 500 million views on YouTube and billions streams on Spotify.

In fact, only one other song does the job of improving productivity better, according to Spotify.

That's Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which dates back to 1975 and boasts a BPM of 71 and over 2.5 billion plays on Spotify.

"Its dynamic structure mirrors the natural fluctuations of concentration, making it an excellent choice for mentally demanding tasks" says Business Today.
