Firefighters are battling the scrap metal blaze on Carlisle Street, in Burngreave, with three crews at the scene.

People have reported smelling the smoke from several miles away.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue has urged people in the area to keep their doors and windows closed until the smoke clears.

It has also asked people to avoid the area if possible, to prevent traffic building up.
