Yungblud, real name Dominic Harrison, has also appeared in two television series - and said he was known as a performer when he was a pupil in Doncaster.

But he has also said that his dramatic traits got him into trouble at school - like when he "mooned" his maths teacher.

Yungblud told the story on a recent episode of the podcast 'Table Manners with Jessie Ware'.

He said: "I loved history - hated maths. I got suspended for mooning at my maths teacher. Pulled a moony at my maths teacher.

"I don't know, man. I think, to be honest, in school everyone knew - I always loved performing. Half the time I wouldn't even go to maths, I'd be skiving in the music centre.

"I remember, all me mates were like: 'Yo, I dare you to moony [the teacher]'. And I was I like: 'Nah nah nah nah, I'm not doing that, not doing that'.

"They were going: 'Go on Dom, go on Dom, go on Dom'. I'm like: 'I'm not doing it, man. I'm just not going to do it'.

"They were like: 'Go on, go on, go on, go on'. I was like: 'Alright then'. Bang - pulled my bum out and pressed it against the glass.

"Aw dude, you should have seen it. Two classes later, two hours later, the deputy head walks and is like: 'You know exactly who you are - get out of this classroom now'.

"And I'm like, uh oh - this is bad bad. There's kind of a bad, and there's a bad bad.

"I'm like alright cool, I'm probably going to get expelled and not going to be able to become a doctor. Mum's not going to be happy.

"The deputy head pulls me into his office and he's suspending me, but he's laughing - he can't hold his humour in."

Previously the singer has revealed how he was bullied at school – but had the last laugh by becoming famous.

He told The Sun: “To be on the stage and see all the geezers who used to bully me or used to f****g hate me, I was like, ‘’Hello. How’s it going?’

“To see some of the lads who used to put me in a locker for wearing eye liner is like that’s the best thing.

“If people hurt, if they bring you down, just love. Just be kind and be nice.

“That’s what casual sabotage is all about. Keep your heart on a plate.”

He comes from a musical background – his dad Justin is a vintage guitar dealer and his grandad Rick played with glam rock legends T-Rex in the 70s.
