‘Come home Grandad, we love you’: Police search for missing man in Rivelin Valley

The granddaughter of a man missing from his home in Sheffield has issued an emotional appeal as police search the area in which he disappeared.

Peter Percival, 53, was last seen yesterday evening, Thursday, July 16, at his home in Rivelin Valley.

Police issued an appeal this morning and a large number of officers have been seen combing the area.

Peter’s wife Janet said he had gone out for a walk at around 9pm and never returned, and he wasn’t answering his phone.

His granddaughter Ellie Swindells said: “If anyone’s seen or heard from him please let me or my nan know or even inform the police. Please come home Grandad, we love you.”

Peter is described as being 5ft8in and of stocky build.

He is thought to be wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 1069 of July 16.
