How could you resist the look in their eyes?
Some of these dogs have had a terrible start in life, suffering neglect or being found in an awful condition, while others have been luckier.
But they are all ready to start a fresh chapter in their lives as they look for a new human to take them in and give them the love and attention they deserve.
All 13 pooches are up for adoption through the charity Helping Yorkshire Poundies, which is based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

9. Bluebell
Bluebell is ready to find her forever home. She is a one-year-old Cane Corso, but very small in size (only 29kg!). Bluebell has been through so much in her life so far, but she’s doing us proud and growing in confidence. She needs to find a very experienced child-free home in a quiet area (a countryside/rural environment). She needs a confident, calm owner who will give her the guidance and support she needs. Bluebell is very nervous and untrusting of strangers and will need a series of meet and greets with potential adopters. She will need a responsible and sensible approach to visitors to the home – she is naturally territorial, and will need careful and slow intros to any visitors. Once she knows you, she is a total goofball who is silly, really playful, daft and totally loveable! Bluebell can potentially live with a larger breed calm, friendly neutered male dog, after sensible, slow introductions. She can’t be rehomed with cats! She is the most amazing girl, with so much potential. She will need total commitment and there is lots of work still to be done to help Bluebell blossom and grow in confidence more as she matures. She now just needs to find the right home to help her along the way. Photo: Helping Yorkshire Poundies
Gentle giant Ned is a six-year-old greyhound who is the sweetest boy you could wish to meet. Ned has endured a life of racing before coming into the charity's care – better times ahead for this beautiful boy now. He is such a lovely lad who is easy going and LOVES his comfy bed to lounge in! Ned gets super excited to go out for his walkies, and walks beautifully on his lead, but he only needs a couple of half-hour walks a day and he’s very content! He also loves to play with soft toys on our secure off-lead area – he’s very gentle with them, bless him. Ned has shown no issues around other dogs since being in care, and could live with a friendly neutered female of similar breed, but no smaller dogs or cats etc for Ned. He is now very clean in his kennel, but a few accidents are to be expected as he settles into a home. He will need direct access to a totally secure garden and as he’s a big lad, he’ll need plenty of room in his new home! Ned will need a loving, patient family to show him what home life is all about – it really won’t take long and we know he’ll soon learn all about what home comforts are! He is one very special boy who so deserves to find his five-star home and be spoilt rotten. Photo: Helping Yorkshire Poundies
Little Ginger the terrier is an older but active little lady who needs a terrier-savvy forever home. She arrived with the charity as a stray, so her exact age is not known but she is thought to be around eight to 10 years old (young!). Ginger LOVES her walks and investigating everything – she walks well on the lead and has been fine out and about when meeting/passing other dogs. She also will carry a cuddly toy along with her – what a cutie! Ginger is housetrained and OK to be left for a few hours. She needs a child-free home. She can occasionally get a little snappy when being stroked/touched when she’s asleep/resting in the evenings, so needs to be given space when she’s having her down time – she will let you know when she wants a cuddle (and she does love a good cuddle on the sofa!). Ginger will make a brilliant companion for her lucky new owner. Photo: Helping Yorkshire Poundies
Super sweet Alvin the greyhound is looking for love. He is three years old. He really is such a lovely boy who has thankfully been saved from a life of racing. Alvin can understandably be a little shy of new things at first, but it doesn’t take him long to get used to things – he’s a clever boy! He loves his walkies and will need a couple of decent walks a day… he will then happily snooze away for hours (so some super comfy places to rest his head are high on his wishlist please)! He needs a home where he has direct access to a very secure garden – he loves to chuck soft toys around and have a good zoom around! Alvin has done well walking with other dogs since being in the charity's care, and could live with a friendly larger breed female (ideally another sighthound) – no small dogs/cats etc. He can be rehomed with children over 12 years old. Alvin would suit a home where he isn’t left alone for more than a couple of hours to begin with – this should be able to be built up over time though. He’s the most lovely boy and deserves the very best in his life from now on. Photo: Helping Yorkshire Poundies
