Police were called to the scene near the Owlerton racecourse and B&Q at around 9.35am today, Thursday, June 9, following reports of a road traffic collision.
South Yorkshire Police had closed the road and said it would remain closed while officers at the scene carried out their work.
The road has since been reopened in both directions.
