Paul Chuckle attends official opening of Jollyes Pets at Asda Drakehouse store
To celebrate the opening, customers were given limited-edition goody bags
Sheffield pet parents received limited-edition goody bags and got the chance to meet a local celebrity at the official opening of a new pet shop.
The new 2,700 sq ft store at Asda Drakehouse opened its doors with Rotherham-born entertainer Paul Chuckle on hand to cut the ribbon and welcome the first customers.
To celebrate the opening, customers were given limited-edition goody bags, while Jollyes’ mascot, Jolly, was on hand to meet and greet visitors.
The new location will be Jollyes Pets’ first store inside an Asda superstore, giving Sheffield shoppers the chance to pick up everything from everyday pet essentials to specialist products as part of their regular supermarket shop.
Customers will be able to browse much-loved household names including Pedigree, Whiskas, Harringtons and Felix, alongside specialist pet brands such as Royal Canin and Hill’s, giving pet parents even more choice when it comes to finding the right products for their furry family members.

The store will also stock Jollyes Pets’ own-label ranges, including Lifestage for dogs and cats and Optimum Pet Health, offering big-brand quality at own-label prices and backed by a 100% money-back guarantee.
The opening will create seven new jobs in the local community and will be led by store manager Alan Burgar, who joined Jollyes Pets last year to open its Chesterfield store.
David Stokes, retail and supply chain director at Jollyes, said: “We are so excited about our new store opening, our first one inside of an Asda. It’s been a long time coming and we are delighted to get it open.
“This is our second store in Sheffield and our 128th store nationwide. You will get the best of grocery but with specialist brands we have a great range of frozen and fresh frozen and this is the first store to trial our new range of chilled pet foods.”
