Tell us a bit about yourself in 50 words
I moved to Sheffield when I was 18 years old to study at the University of Sheffield, but I am originally from Manchester. My favourite thing to do is go on long walks whilst listening to some great tunes.
What is your most cherished personal memory of Sheffield?
When I first visited an open day at university, I remember walking with my parents along the tram tracks in the centre. I looked at passers-by, at families, and at working people commuting, and I knew at that moment that this city was where I wanted to spend the next three years of my life.

Where is your favourite place to eat in Sheffield and why?
My favourite place to eat in Sheffield used to be Pieminister. In all my life, I’d never seen a restaurant dedicated to just serving pie and mash, and I found this to be a complete revelation. After discovering Pieminister, I brought all my friends and my family when they’ve visited me and I was disappointed when it closed.

If you were tempting a visitor to Sheffield for the first time, what would you highlight?
The Crossed Wires Podcast Festival. I volunteered there a couple of years ago and it was so much fun. I even ended up singing onstage with Katie Price, but that’s a story for another day.
Which park or green space do you love most and what makes it special?
Crookes Valley Park because it’s where all the students come together. The lake is where it’s at. Hot day? The disposable barbecues are coming out. It’s a great sense of community and some of my favourite memories have been there.
If we could grant you one wish to improve Sheffield, what would it be and why?
BRING BACK THE LEADMILL. If you’ve lived here long enough to know about the legacy of The Leadmill before it was destroyed forever, then I’m sure you’ve got some great memories there. It was a fantastic landmark for the city, and Leadmill Fridays will forever live on in my heart.
Why are proud to be a Sheffielder?
I genuinely believe it puts Yorkshire on the map. Not only has it got the Arctic Monkeys, the Peaks and a mad history of steel, it’s also got a really lovely community of local people.
What does Sheffield do better than anybody else?
It's got to be Henderson’s Relish. If I could ship boxes of Hendos out globally then I would! I’ve put all my family on it back home in Manchester, and it quickly became a staple of our cupboards.
