Exclusive:Money donated for funeral of Sheffield teenager Muhammad Secka and to help heartbroken mum and siblings
Donations will help fund the teenager’s funeral
Nearly £3,000 has been donated to help pay for the funeral for a Sheffield teenager who died in the lake at Rother Valley Country Park.
Muhammad Secka, a pupil at Sheffield Park Academy, died after disappearing in the water on Bank Holiday Monday.
He was reported missing when he entered the lake but failed to re-emerge.
A major search operation was mounted and Muhammad’s body was discovered the following day.

Muhammad, who dreamed of becoming a doctor, was described by a friend as “always smiling” and he said he “never got into trouble” and had a “good vibe.”
Devastated pal Kelly Osayi - who set up a fundraiser in his memory -posted online: “My friend secka drowned at Rother Valley Country Park and we are trying to raise money for his funeral and for a memorial.
“He was loved by many people and it is tragic that he died at just the age of 16 which still doesn’t feel real for most of us.
“It would be much appreciated if we hit the target and maybe extra to help his mum and his two younger siblings.”

He was loved by many people and his death “still doesn’t feel real for most of us,” he added.
Speaking to The Star, he said: “Muhammad always used to smile, everyone liked him.
“People are consoling each other, some people can’t believe it, some people are accepting that God took him for a reason. Everyone is grieving and they are still trying to find out what happened.
“He was with a group of friends and they were splashing each other when he disappeared under the water.”
