MP urges residents to keep their appointments

Barnsley East MP Michael Dugher has urged people to avoid the risk of losing their eyesight, with regular checks.

Shocking figures revealed more than 5,000 people in Barnsley missed important eyesight appointments last year. The Royal National Institute of Blind People warned that early diagnosis is vital to prevent people losing their sight through conditions like age-related Macular Degeneration.

Mr Dugher said: “I’m supporting the RNIB’s work to make sure people get timely appointments and avoid jeopardising their eyesight.”
