Emergency services were called to the junction of West End Road and Station Road at 6.52pm on Wednesday September 24.
The incident involved two vehicles. A man in one of the cars managed to escape before the arrival of the fire service.
A spokesman said: “One adult male in the second car was medically trapped.”
Firefighters, assisted by paramedics, manipulated the casualty free before placing him onto a spinal board. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles were made safe by disconnecting the batteries. Small tools and an air bag protector were in use.
