The Croydon Cat Killer first started attacking felines up to two years ago, but police investigating the case have seen a recent worrying shift in the cat killings moving further afield.

Dead animals with the same mutilations - such as decapitation - have now reportedly been found in Sheffield as well as Birmingham, Manchester, Northampton, Maidstone, and Maidenhead, according to MailOnline.

Sheffield is one of the latest places from which the killer has chosen to launch their attacks, according to Boudicca Rising, who is helping police with their investigation as founder of South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty.

MailOnline reported that last month 13 cats were killed in 13 days.

Experts have reportedly expressed worry that if publicity dies down about the attacks, the killer could move on to dogs.

Anyone with information should call the Met Police on 101, the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
