Hallam earn fifth straight win '“ NCEL round-up

Hallam came from behind to secure their fifth consecutive win as their Northern Counties East League clash with Shirebrook Town ended 3-2.

A volley from Sam Martin had Shirebrook ahead three minutes from the break and it remained that way until a frantic final 14 minutes.

With Hallam piling on the pressure, the inevitable equaliser arrived when Tom Wilson ran onto a half clearance and fired in a low shot from 16 yards.

The turnaround was completed on 83 minutes when Sam Smith powered home a header from close range.

Reece Treasure secured the win three minutes later after racing into the box and slamming in a shot via a deflection.

Shirebrook put some doubt on the result when Tom Widdowson pulled a goal back but Hallam held on in a lengthy period of stoppage time.

Handsworth Parramore made it four wins from five with a 3-2 win over Harrogate Railway Athletic which took them sixth in the Premier Division and three points off leaders Hemsworth MW.

Ollie Fearon headed Parra in front on two minutes with Jon Froggatt powering in a Brad Nicholson cross to double the advantage on 15 minutes.

Sean Hunter pulled Harrogate back into the game with a close range strike but Handsworth restored their two-goal cushion when Oscar Radford scored an opportunistic effort from inside his own half.

The visitors reduced the deficit with the last kick of the game.

Penistone Church came from a goal down at home to beat league leaders Hemsworth 5-2 to make it three wins from four.

Sam Scrivens (2), Tom Brennan, Conor Glavin and Ashley Ellis netted for Church.

Worksop Town ended a three game losing run with a resounding 6-1 demolition of Athersley Recreation.

Matt Sykes (2), Craig Mitchell (2), Jamie Price and Conor Brunt found the net for Worksop with Lee Garside grabbing the Athersley consolation.

Parkgate suffered a 2-1 defeat to Glasshoughton Welfare in new boss Andy Dawson's first home game in charge.

Staveley MW made it three consecutive league wins with Jahmal Riley's 57th minute strike proving enough to see off Albion Sport.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic bounced back to winning ways after three straight defeats as they won 2-0 at FC Bolsover. Jack Mawson and Brad Kerr scored the goals.

A Lee Holmes penalty and a Jason Stokes strike earned Rossington Main a 2-0 win at Ollerton Town.

Armthorpe Welfare made it three games without defeat as they battled out a 2-2 draw at Campion with Leon Loftus and Jordan Buckham on target.

Harworth Colliery slumped to a 7-0 defeat at East Yorkshire Carnegie.
