A much-loved statue of Queen Victoria is still covered in paint after a pre-Christmas vandal attack.

The listed structure at the entrance to Endcliffe Park, off Hunter’s Bar roundabout, was splashed with red paint on December 21.

A group naming itself ‘Justice For The Hunger Strikers’ contacted The Star claiming responsibility.
