A shocking video has been posted online which shows a man being mauled by a tiger at a popular wildlife park.

It comes after police and paramedics flooded Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster at around 2pm today.

Eye witnesses say a “black screen” was erected around the tiger enclosure while there were reports of “shots fired” shortly before an evacuation.

In the video a young male can be seen on the grass inside the enclosure with the big cat circling and grabbing him and shaking him around.

The helpless males cries “no, no” as horrified onlookers say “Jesus Christ” and a woman can be heard saying “I tried to stop him”.

The stricken male appears to halt the tiger by screaming “no, no!” and raising his finger at the huge beast, which dwarfs him in stature.

Multiple witnesses say an “agitated” male was seen to jump into the enclosure and was grabbed by one of the cats before “five shots” of what some say was a “gas canister” into the cage.

It is understood the park has been closed for the rest of the day.

Tia Hanson was at the park for a day out with a pal when at around 2pm the walkway between the tiger enclosure and the exit was closed, she said.

She added: “It looks as if someone has jumped into the enclosure and they’ve had to shoot the tiger. People are saying they heard a gunshot and they say someone either jumped in, or fell in.

“There was an air ambulance and police everywhere. We’ve all been made to leave.

“When you’re leaving you have to walk past the tiger enclosure and they’ve put up all sort of black tarpaulin so you couldn’t really see.”

A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called at 1.33pm today (Saturday 10 October) 2026 to an incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.

They added: “We sent a number of resources, including two land ambulances, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor. Any further enquiries should be directed to South Yorkshire Police.”

South Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Wildlife Park have been contacted.
