Police provide update on Sheffield collision which left pedestrian, 18, fighting for life
Woman was seriously injured in late night incident on Upper Hanover Street
South Yorkshire Police has provided an update on the incident which left a teenage pedestrian fighting for her life in the early hours of Monday.
The young woman, aged 18, was taken to hospital after she was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic on Upper Hanover Street, with police called to the scene just before 12.30am in the early hours of the morning.
Yesterday, she was described as being in a life threatening condition.

However, today, police said that the 18-year-old is now in a stable condition.
A spokesman added: “I can confirm that enquiries are ongoing.”
Officers remained at the scene at Upper Hanover Street last night in order to conduct further enquiries, South Yorkshire Police said.
The road was closed by police after the incident, near the junction with Glossop Road and later re-opened.
It was sealed off for a number of hours while accident investigation work was carried out at the crash scene.
Trams were also disrupted for a period of time while the crash scene was cordoned off.
Police returned later that night.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to report online or call 101, quoting incident number 12 of September 21.

Blue and white police tape was stretched across the road on Monday morning, from the metal fencing on the Sheffield University tram stop, which is located between the two carriageways, to part of the central reservation.
A dark coloured car could be seen on the road inside the cordon, with evidence markers close to it.
Police advising people to avoid the area.
