Her family have been made aware

Police have discovered the body of a 93-year-old woman in the garden of a property in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Police have confirmed that a body, believed to be that of missing Castleton woman Sheila, was found by officers.

Sheila was last seen almost a week ago, on September 1.

A force spokesperson said: “We appealed for information about Sheila yesterday (Sunday, September 6) after concerns were raised about her welfare. Sadly, the 93-year-old was found deceased in the garden of her property yesterday afternoon.

“Her family have been made aware, and our thoughts are with them at this time. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
