The search is continuing, as the Met Office’s yellow weather warning is set to be replaced with one for ice, which comes into force at 10pm tonight.

Detective Inspector Helen Hughes said: “I am urging anyone who may have seen Andrew since he went missing, or who knows where he may be, to please contact us.

"Having carried out a lot of enquiries in the Darton area, including speaking to nearby business premises, we are now asking residents to check their CCTV and doorbells for footage from Wednesday 19 November as it could show missing Andrew.

"If you have captured any footage that might show Andrew, please report it to us straight away.

“If you live in the Barnsley area and have a shed, outhouse or garden, we would also urge you to please check these areas for anything out of the ordinary, as Andrew may have sought shelter in the cold weather.

“Andrew is a much-loved son, and his family is growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Our officers are working tirelessly in our search for Andrew, and any information the public provides could be crucial.”

Police say Andrew was last seen wearing a blue fleece jacket, a dark hoodie, dark jogging bottoms and black shoes.

He is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall and of a medium build with dark brown hair and stubble.

Residents are also being urged to check their own CCTV and doorbell cameras for potential footage of missing Andrew from around the time he went last seen.

Anyone with information that could help police to find Andrew, is asked to please get in touch online or by calling 101.
