Huge plumes of smoke spotted as fire rages near Rother Valley
Firefighters are tackling the blaze
Plumes of thick, black smoke can be seen across parts of Sheffield and Rotherham this evening as firefighters tackle a woodland blaze.

Earlier today, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue described the incident as a grass fire near to the popular Elmwood Farm pub in Beighton.
New details have since been released by the fire service, with the blaze now described as a woodland fire.
Local residents say the incident is close to Rother Valley Country Park.
Plumes of smoke from the incident are spreading across parts of Sheffield and Rotherham.
In a statement this evening, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Only call 999 in a genuine emergency.
“Our control room is extremely busy right now.
“Please only call 999 if it's a genuine emergency and you need a fire engine.
“Lots of repeat calls right now are for a fire in woodland in Beighton, Sheffield.
“We know about the incident and have fire engines on scene.
“Thank you for all your support - it really does mean a lot.”
There have been a number of grass fires in South Yorkshire over recent days, with weeks of warm weather and a lack of rain leaving the ground tinder dry.
