Handsome police pooch pacifies fugitive South Yorkshire criminal with history of violence towards officers
With PD Pip supporting officers, the suspect was successfully arrested
The mere presence of the handsome police pooch pictured here was enough to pacify a fugitive South Yorkshire criminal with a history of violence towards officers.
The South Yorkshire Police dog - known as Pip - joined human colleagues cornering the wanted man hiding in a garage after fleeing into an estate when he was spotted on Doncaster Road in Rotherham by a patrolling response sergeant.

After the absconder took to his legs a search began, with cops “relentlessly” combing the area.
A police spokesperson said: “Our dogs are highly trained in finding people, property and detaining suspects and while they are fast on their paws and determined to catch offenders, often their presence at a scene and can ensure a compliant arrest.
“The tenacity of officers led to the man being found in a garage. With PD Pip supporting officers the suspect was successfully arrested.”
