Flowers have been heaped at the scene of the devastating collision on East Bawtry Road on Saturday evening (September 26), in which one car left the carriageway and collided with a lamppost.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services and members of the public, the two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, GoFundMe campaigns set up to support the two men’s families have named them as Jacob Skidmore and Jacob Patching.

The fundraising pages, set up by Olivia Bell and Josh Huntington respectively, have raised over £7,000 between then in less than 24 hours.

It is understood both boys died aged just 19.

The page for Jacob Skidmore, says the money will be to give him “the send off he deserves after being a fatality in a serious car accident,” while Jacob Patching’s page hopes to build “a custom fishing memorial bench for down at the pond” where “friends and family can have some time in one of his favourite places.”

At the scene, a photo of baby is tucked among the flowers with a handwritten note that reads: “Will miss you lots - can remember this like yesterday.”

Another note reads: “Jacob - goodnight, God bless son. My heart is broken. Love you always, Mum.”

It comes after a memorial service - reportedly not organised by the affected families - was held on East Bawtry Road on Sunday.
