The fire began to rage on grassland just off Rother Crescent in Treeton, Rotherham a short time after 7pm this evening (Monday, September 14, 2026).
Huge plumes of smoke could be seen billowing above the street, as members of the public began to congregate.
The blaze reportedly breached the fence of a nearby autism centre, before spreading to a wooden structure.
Firefighters from Aston and Rotherham stations were dispatched, and arrived at the fire site at around 7.15pm.
