Milton hasn’t played since picking up a shoulder injury in the Challenge Cup defeat at Hunslet in March.

“It will be good to have George back because he’s quality and brings something different to the team with his ball-handling skills,” said head coach Gary Thornton.

“He’s an old fashioned loose-forward and a clever footballer who will take some of the pressure off the pivotal players. He can also take the ball in hard and I think we’ve missed him and his presence on the field.

“In an ideal world I’d like to have given him a run-out in the reserves if we’d had a second team and he’ll probably start on the bench.

“Ryan Wright is also fit again and Matt Nicholson also returns to the side which will help compensate for the fact that Mike Kelly (knee) could be out for possibly eight weeks and Mark Castle and Iafeta Paleaaesina also picked up injuries in the win over Oxford.

“Iafeta is out for about five weeks which is a bit of a worry because he needs to play eight games for us to be eligible for the play-offs. We are hoping he’ll be fit for our final home game in the regular season against Hemel Stags.”

Thornton put his charges through their paces at Cantley Park last night prior to the team setting off for France at 8am this morning.

“Hopefully we’ll arrive in time to have a light session tonight,” he told The Star.
