Here is everything we know so far.

Emergency services were called to a property on Woodthorpe Road in Woodthorpe at around 8.10pm on Friday night.

They were responding after receiving reports a 23-year-old man had suffered stab wounds.

One neighbour said they saw the police helicopter at about 8.30pm and that there were here were ‘a lot of police cars’.

The air ambulance also attended but was not used.

Police this morning said the man died at the scene a short time later and a murder investigation was launched.

Last night and again today, touching tributes were paid to the man online but he has not yet been formally identified.

Police cordon off the area around Woodthorpe Road in Sheffield where a 23 year old male was stabbed to death.
