'You were our world' - tributes pour in for Sheffield murder victim

Tributes have been paid to a 23-year-old man who died after a stabbing in Sheffield on Friday evening.

On Saturday (7 March) South Yorkshire Police confirmed a murder investigation has been launched after a man died following a stabbing on Woodthorpe Road on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 8.10pm. The victim died at the scene.

Writing on Facebook, Danielle Elizabeth said: “You are, have always, and will always be the love of my life.

“I can’t believe how lucky I was to spend every day for the last few years loving you and knowing you loved me even more.

She added: “You were our world and we were yours. I am so broken, I feel like I’m in a dream. Sleep peacefully until we can be together again forever.”

Mourners laid flowers at the scene this morning, which was guarded by an extensive police cordon and six police vehicles.
