Witness appeal after racial abuse on Sheffield-bound train

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a woman was racially abused on-board a train travelling between London St Pancras and Sheffield railway stations earlier this month.

British Transport Police say a man was racially abusive to a woman sat on the train as it travelled between London and Sheffield.

The incident happened on board the train between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 1 May

It is also reported that the same man was then abusive to a second woman in the same carriage.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “One arrest has been made in connection, however officers are keen to speak to anyone that was on-board the service who may have witnessed the incident.”
